I was using this journal as an online store for my handmade jewelry, but I am not doing that anymore, so please do not purchase anything from this site (some of the items have "buy" buttons) unless you contact me first. At this time, it's just a blog for me to show off my latest stuff. If you happen to want to buy anything you see here, let me know and it can probably be arranged.
I was on HGTV's "Crafters Coast To Coast" (which has now been renamed "That's Clever")! Click here for details about this episode, which features me and two other crafters.

These are my favorites of the earrings I've been making lately (and I've been making a lot of earrings!).

| SALE!! |
[30 Aug 2006|01:46am] |
I am making spiral rope bracelets and necklaces like this one, to order. Because I am currently in desperate need of money, I am making them at a steep discount: $25/necklace or $10/bracelet. Set of both for $30. Whatever colors you'd like, as long as I have 'em (and I have a lot of colors).
Here's another one:

E-mail me at smilingturtle @ gmail.com and let me know what you'd like. :) PayPal only!

| St. Timothy School Craft Fair! |
[18 Nov 2005|04:02pm] |
Come visit me and tiel! :) I've been working on lots of new stuff. More earrings, more pearls, and loads of other goodies! (And as always, the animal pendants will be making an appearance, as well as some Crafters Coast To Coast turtle necklace look-alikes!) This is my last craft fair in the DC area. Hope to see you there!

I will not be working at the Vale School House today as scheduled. :( I have a sore throat and have lost my voice. (It's kind of hard to help customers that way! I'd probably scare them away.)
But I will be there tomorrow instead, from 3:30-7:30; so if you're a local and want to come say hi, you can catch me then. :)

| Jewelry party! |
[17 Oct 2005|03:30pm] |
Well, the jewelry party was quite a success. I feel good about the beginning of my craft fair season for this year. My next one is coming up quickly--it's the 22nd annual Holiday Boutique at the Historic Vale School House in Oakton, VA. It goes from 10/31-11/5, but since it's boutique-style, I won't be there the entire time. Each artist works 8 hours (in 2 four-hour shifts), and assists in selling every artist's merchandise. As a friend said yesterday, it's a little like a co-op. Should be pretty interesting to see how it works--I'm looking forward to it!
The photo in this entry is of one of the 2 tables I had set up yesterday. You can click on it to see it in its full majesty. ;) Also, you can click this link to see more pictures of my display from the party, including my ever-popular animal pendants. Enjoy!!

My sweetheart took this picture yesterday. These are some unfinished turtles I've been working on. They still need eyes and a coat of glaze... :)

| Onyx triangle bead necklace/multistrand bracelet |
[26 Sep 2005|03:16pm] |
This is one of the coolest things I've made recently. I wish I had more of these beads so I could make one for myself! ;)
According to the trend reports, "black is the new black," so I've been working on some good black jewelry. This is my favorite as yet. It can be worn long around the neck, or as a multistrand bracelet.
Click on the photo to see it close up, or click here to see all 3 of my photos of this one.

| Beaded flower pins |
[14 Sep 2005|07:23pm] |
These little cuties are $28 each or 2 for $46. They are made from Japanese seed beads, and measure about 1.75" each. (The pink one has a light pink Czech fire polish bead in the center.)
Hopefully I will get the shopping cart button up soon. In the meantime, please e-mail me to order.
I will be making these in more colors, so...stay tuned! :) If you want one in a specific color combination, drop me an e-mail.
(Click the photo to see these close up!)
( Click here for more beaded flower pins! Added 9/26/05. )
